Writing after a long
time without thinking much about the topic. Infact these days my life is going so fast don’t have time to give thought to lots of things.
But whenever I am travelling and am forced to think I wonder what a race life is. I see so many people going around busy in talking, messaging, watching movies (thanks to smart phones). Looks like everybody is very efficient and productive and knows the value of time. And why not, we all have high ambitions, which unlike our parents, are not restricted to good house, good clothes and good food only. We want to achieve everything achievable. And this thought is strengthened when we see our peers succeed in their endeavor.
Well they say "Desire leads to success". And I totally agree with it. But in this race for new and better things we forget to look back and be happy about what we already achieved. When we were kids did we think we can have all what we have now? And if we thought, how confident were we?
I recently heard a short story from my dear friend. He told me how our mind works to achieve success :-
Our mind sets a goal and works hard to achieve it. So if I decide, for example, that I will buy a new phone 4 months from now, my mind knows I have to save for it or have to work hard to achieve that extra incentive so that I can buy myself that long desired technological beauty. And the time comes and I successfully buy the phone, but that very moment I realize there's a new iPad launched. And now I want to buy it too in a couple of months and I start working hard. But what happens internally is that my mind gets confused as it expected that once I succeed in something I will be happy and in a mood to celebrate. But what I did was set a new goal and started chasing it.
Well I think I made my point clear. So whenever we get time today, while travelling, in kitchen, walking to buy a new gadget, or simply trying to sleep at night; let’s take a short break and think what we have achieved. How brilliantly we have performed in past few years and applaud ourselves. Be proud of our own achievements and smile. Don’t worry it will not leave you behind in the race, but energise you to run faster.
Some of the success quotes I found while writing this blog:
